Hi everyone,
Last season the LCC ran into a number of issues surrounding requests from clubs/teams to reschedule fixtures due to a variety of social occasions such as weddings, golf weekends, girls’ weekends away, etc.
Whilst acknowledging that there is more to life than football the responsibility of the LCC and MDSFA is to conduct a football competition within a limited period of time and with the resources available. As the general dates of our competitions and playing schedules are known well beforehand it is not the duty of the LCC or MDSFA to inconvenience other participants in our competitions to accommodate the social lives of a minority.
It would also be appreciated if, rather than use the LCC/MDSFA as the arbiter, all clubs are more proactive in dealing with such matters themselves. Our experience last season was that the circumstances given by some teams for rescheduling matches were not always accurate. Clubs need to investigate these circumstances and be more forthright in dealing with the issues themselves.
This season the LCC will NOT be rescheduling matches for any reasons other than those that are beyond the LCC/MDSFA’s control (wet weather, etc). Teams who are unable to meet the commitments as scheduled will be deemed to be forfeiting that match. Please make sure that your teams, especially your Age teams, are aware of this situation.
Regards,
Ross Anderson
